Mr. Gerald Franklin Hales, 66

AUTRYVILLE Mr. Gerald Franklin "Jerry" Hales, 66, of 2053 Yellowskin Road, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Bishop Warren Barfield officiating. Burial will follow at the Ed Autry Cemetery in Autryville. Mr. Hales was born in 1944 in Cumberland County to the late Elizabeth Hales. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Rachel Autry Hales. He was a mechanic. Mr. Hales is survived by: wife, Sheila Hales, of the home; son, Chris Hales, of Autryville; two daughters, Deneen Baggett and Daveda Sneider, both of Autryville; two step-daughters, Lizzie Locklear and Alecia Locklear, both of Bunn Level; three step-sons, Jackie Locklear, of Wilmington, Bobby Locklear, of Virginia and Donald Locklear, of Faison; two sisters, Shirley Whitted, of Cary and Joyce Oliver, of Georgia; 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
