Daddy was a loving husband, father, brother, granddaddy, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a hardworking and compassionate man who will be missed dearly. From working on the B-Bar-B Ranch to Appalachian Power Company to drilling wells and even chopping in his garden, he took a lot of pride in everything he did.
Daddy loved his friends. You would just stop by to say hey, how are you doing. Then would you would sit on his back porch and talk. Daddy looked forward to the visits and he treasured each and every one of you.
All that knew Daddy knew he enjoyed his music. Anytime he had a chance he would grab his guitar and dobro and go play for the "old folks", and most of the "old folks' were younger than him.
Goshen Medical in Garland has been a "God Sent" for many years. Frankie Britt and her staff have always been there for Daddy. Thanks to all of them our Daddy has spent many healthy years so his family and friends could spend precious moments with him. He always spoke highly of them. Daddy really didn't want anyone but Frankie to "Doctor" on him.
We would like to thank the entire staff at WakeMed for taking such good care of our Daddy from August 20th through September 6th. The loving care from Unit 3E was appreciated by Daddy and his girls.
We are so thankful for Hospice of Wake County. Daddy was very blessed to have a wonderful staff that took care of his every need in such a loving and caring way. It was like our Daddy was their Daddy.
