STEDMAN Mrs. Geneva Cox Matthews, 72 of 559 Wade-Stedman Road, Stedman, died on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason Whitfield officiating. Mrs. Matthews was born on October 20, 1939 in Horry, SC, to the late Homer Devon and Mary Magalene Martin Cox. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Kinston Ray Matthews. She was a licensed Insurance Agent. She is survived by: her daughter, Sonya Matthews of the home; two brothers, Homer Cox, Jr. of Stedman and Sammy Cox of Trinity; two grandchildren, Catherine Buhrman of Fayetteville and Matthew Buhrman of Hope Mills; and one great grandchild, Matthew S. Roberts. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman and other times at the home.
