Mr. Gary Edward Waeldin, 79 passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 4 at Zoar Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Kelvin Blackman.

Mr. Waeldin was a native of California, the son of Vernon Earle and Rosalie Elizabeth Carleton Waeldin. He was preceded in death by parents. He loved the Lord and his family. He was also an insurance underwriter for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Strickland Waeldin of the home; two daughters, Tina Slatkovsky; and Carrie Waeldin Buchanan and husband, Scott; seven grandchildren, Melissa Marshall and husband, Anthony, Amy Gale and husband, TJ, Jacob Slatkovsky and wife, Emily, Joseph Slatkovsky and wife, Emily, Nicole Waeldin, Andrew Peters and Adam Peters; five great-grandchildren, Emma Marshall, Ezra Marshall, Harper Slatkovsky, Carter Slatkovsky and Levi Slatkovsky; and sister, Jean Waeldin Severson and husband, Chuck.
