Gary Franklin Strickland, 72

ROSEBORO

Mr. Gary Franklin Strickland, 72 of 650 Butler Island Road, Roseboro, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with Robert Nunnery and Walt Latham officiating. Burial will follow in the Roseboro Cemetery.

Mr. Strickland was a native of Sampson County, the son of the late Oscar Franklin and Kathleen Smith Strickland. He worked in the textile industry.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Strickland of the home; a daughter, Drenda Ammons and husband William of Roseboro; two grandchildren, Jessica Barrier and husband Jared of Autryville, and William Gary Ammons and Alaina of Roseboro; two great grandchildren, Victoria Barrier, and Benjamin Barrier; two brothers, Tommy Strickland and wife Teresa, and Ricky Strickland and wife Rachael, all of Stedman.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM Tuesday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
