ELIZABETHTOWN
Mrs. Frankie Hilburn Smith, 81 of the Ammon Community, passed away peacefully at home with her daughter, Floy in Vale, NC, on Wednesday, May 25, 2011.
Mrs. Smith grew up in Bladen County and married her husband of 63 years, Adell B. Smith on June 29, 1947. They worked for Burlington Mills on Massey Hill and attended Faymount Baptist Church before living in Cherryville, NC, then Raleigh and then returning to Ammon where their church home had been Windsor United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Bill, and beloved grandson, Brian.
She is survived by her four children: daughter, Floy Mae Parris of Vale, NC; sons, Steve Franklin and wife Elizabeth of Fayetteville, Andy Badger and wife Susan of Fayetteville and Jerry Dudley and wife Fran of Wake Forest; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Visistation will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Windsor United Methodist Church in Ammon, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 P.M.
Memorials may be given to Windsor United Methodist Church, 12863 NC Hwy. 242 N., Elizabethtown, N.C. 28337.
