She lived in Raleigh, NC, for 22 years until the death of her husband in 2003. She lived in Wake County and briefly in Alamance County before spending the last year of her life with her daughter Betty Tew in Apex, NC. She was an avid oil painter during her mid-adult years. She could play popular songs on the piano by ear with her own stylistic arrangements. Frances also loved making her home a beautiful place for her family to enjoy. She studied interior design and worked part time in real estate as a relief agent. Later in her life she pursued her love of poetry and wrote two poetry collections expressing both her memoirs and her love of beauty. Most of all she loved her family and her greatest joy was celebrating with them on all the holidays and birthdays. Frances was loved and admired by all who knew her for her kind and caring ways. Her gifts for loving and uplifting others will remain forever in our hearts.
