FAYETTEVILLE
Mrs. Frances Nobles Smith, 77 of 7065 Tabor Church Road, Fayetteville, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, September 15 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman with the Rev. Rufus Autry officiating. Burial will follow in the Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born on December 23, 1936 in Washington County, NC, to the late Walter L. and Fannie H. Hardison Nobles. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Molly Marie Guertin and Agnes L. Johnson; and three brothers, Leon B. Nobles, Thomas B. Nobles and Elwood S. Nobles.
She was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church in Cedar Creek where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. She was a Consultant with Mary Kay and retired in 1998 as a Bank Teller with First Union Bank.
She is survived by her husband, William A. Smith, Jr. of the home; two daughters, Susan Smith Barnes (Claude) of Fayetteville and Janet Smith of Stedman; two sons, Michael A. Smith (Clara) of Fayetteville and James N. Smith (Angela) of Autryville; three brothers, Wayne Nobles of Plymouth, NC, Walter T. Nobles of Fayetteville and Eddie Nobles of Jamesville, NC; eight grandchildren, Lisa Spence Boyle of Greenville, SC, Warren Ray Spence, Jr. of Columbia, SC, Elizabeth Lynn Smith of Fayetteville, Rebecca Drew Smith of Concord, Richard Curtis Hogeland of Stedman, Ethan Clay Hogeland of Okinawa, Japan, Maggie Louise Smith of Autryville and Mason Tucker Smith of Autryville; and one great grandchild, Ella Warren Boyle.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tabor United Methodist Church, 6112 Tabor Church Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312.
