Frances Pridgen New, 71, of Stedman, NC passed away peacefully in November 15, 2024. She was born on March 16, 1953 in Sampson County, NC to Lawson and Josephine Pridgen.

Frances is preceded in death by her father, Lawson James Pridgen; her mother, Josephine Padgett Pridgen; two brothers, James Lawson Pridgen and Tommie Lee Pridgen; and a nephew, Ronnie Lee Pridgen.

Frances is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, William Henry New, two daughters, Angela Blanton (David) of Burgaw, NC and Tracie Carnes (Jason) of Fayetteville, NC; a granddaughter, Brittany Blanton; two grandsons, David Blanton and Aaron Blanton; and her great-granddaughter, Kylie Blanton.

She loved to travel; often taking trips to the mountains where she found peacefulness in the evidence of God’s unwavering beauty. Frances was a woman of faith who deeply believed in the power of prayer.

Frances was both kind and strong; nurturing and protective. She raised her daughters to always learn something new every day and to never let anyone tell them they couldn’t accomplish something. She was indeed a lady and a lady always knows when to leave.

Services will be held at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman, NC on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Visitation will be held at 1:00 to 1:50 PM and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Andy Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Horne Cemetery in Autryville, NC.
