Mrs. Frances Patricia Donnelly Zand, 71

Frances Patricia Donnelly Zand Frances Patricia Donnelly Zand, 71, of Salemburg, formerly of Massachusetts and Florida, died December 3, 2008 at Duke University Hospital. Mrs. Zand is survived by her husband David Marvin ; daughter Judeth Anne Zand Ivey, son-in-law Duane, grandson Christopher Michael Dietrich, and granddaughter Caitlin Christine; and daughter Sharon Rose Zand Holland, son-in-law John, granddaughter Claudia Frances, and grandson Connor David. She is also survived by sisters Mary Davison, Ann Port and husband George, Elizabeth Sim and husband Vic Sumera, and sister-in-law Marilyn Donnelly of Massachusetts, and sister, Ellen Morel and husband Eugene of Florida, and brothers James Donnelly and wife Camille, Edmund Donnelly and Thomas Donnelly also of Massachusetts. Mrs. Zand is survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews and their families. She is also survived by extended family Mary Catherine, Zita, and Kayla Zand of Roseboro; and David J. Zand and family of Louisiana. Mrs. Zand is also survived by the many caring friends she made during the short time she lived in North Carolina. Mrs. Zand was preceded in death by her mother, Anne Barker Donnelly, and her father, Daniel Joseph Donnelly; her brothers Daniel and Stephen, her sister Kathleen, cousin Ann Leahy, sisters-in-law Peggy Donnelly and Frances Long, and much loved nieces and nephews. Mrs. Zand was a devoted grandmother, spending all of her time with her four grandchildren. Nana was a Lakewood Leopard, and a Harrells Crusader. She loved to watch her grandchildren play sports, listen to them play piano and sing in the church choir or at voice recitals, and she never missed a dance recital. Nana loved to play cards on the computer and watch Jeopardy, and she always did the crossword puzzles in pen! She was an intelligent, vibrant, giving, and loving sister, wife, grandmother, and mother. Nana was loved by many, and will be missed by all. Godspeed Mama. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Roseboro United Methodist Church.
