EASTOVER
Mr. Felix Howard "Pete" Stallings, 84, of Eastover passed away Friday June 19, 2015 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Pete was a retired Service Foreman for Carolina Telephone Co. where he worked for over forty years. He was an active member of REACT. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where he was a past trustee and a member of United Methodist Men and the Henry Murphy Sunday School Class. He was a long-time Mason and a member of the Phoenix Masonic Lodge, Fayetteville, N.C. His favorite activity and his passion was fishing.
He was born and raised in Edgecombe County and graduated from Tarboro High School. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the 82d Airborne. Pete was the son of the late Joseph Hyman Stallings and Lillian Williams Stallings. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, William and Clyde.
A funeral service will be held at Salem United Methodist Church, Monday, June 22 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. David Beck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A public reception will be held after the committal service at the church dining hall.
Pete is survived by his wife of 59 years, Neva W. Stallings of the home and a daughter, Phyllis Stallings of Clinton, also, numerous nieces and nephews.
