Mrs. Evelyn Wilson Taylor, 93

ROSEBORO Mrs. Evelyn Wilson Taylor, 93 of 3289 Butler Island Road, Roseboro, died on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton. The funeral will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Butler Funeral Home with Rev. David Williams and Rev. Dennis Guy officiating. Burial will follow in the Roseboro Cemetery. Mrs. Taylor was born on July 28, 1918 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Warren and Mazellar Vinson Wilson. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Quincy Taylor; and one brother, Elton Warren Wilson. She graduated from East Carolina in 1939 and taught first grade for 40 years in Nash, Sampson and Cumberland Counties. She is survived by: her daughter, Linda Taylor Mathis of Winston-Salem; one granddaughter, Rhonda Mathis Robbins and husband, Cory of Winston-Salem; one great grandson, Brady Robbins; and one sister, Janet Wilson Lukaszewicz and husband, Jim of Amelia Island, Florida. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mill Creek Baptist Church, 701 Mill Creek Church Road, Roseboro, NC 28382. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W.
