Mrs. Evelyn (Ruffin) Gardner, 85 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Whiteville.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with the Reverend Eddie Smith officiating. The burial will follow in the Roseboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:50 AM on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mrs. Gardner was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Thomas Lee and Hazel Omega Strickland Ruffin. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Sandra Lee Lewis.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Felix Gardner of the home; her son, Bobby Dale Lewis and wife, Bridget of Roseboro; her brother, Thomas Lee Ruffin, Jr. of Garland; and two sisters, Faye Sessoms of Roseboro; and Linda Stephens and husband, Worth of Roseboro.
