Mrs. Eva Carolyn Autry, 71 of Autryville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2022 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM  Saturday , May 14 at Clement Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Keith and Dr. James Dees, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Autry Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:50 PM at the church prior to the service.

Mrs. Autry was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Carl B. Horne and Lila Mae Bryant Matthews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; step father, Robert Matthews; husband, Michael “Mickey” Autry; sister, Lillie Mae Hudson; two brothers, James Olin Smith and Larry Ray Horne.

Mrs. Autry was a beautiful mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to church and family.  She was a retired teacher’s assistant with the Sampson County Schools.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Autry, Jr. (Lisa) of Autryville and Nicholas Wayne Autry (Nicole) of Nashville TN; five grandchildren, Brandon Thornton, Jordan Thornton, Caleb Autry, Lyla Autry and Nora Autry; four great grandchildren, Sadie, Nolan, Cameron and Avery; four sisters, Sharon Irene McLaurin (Lonnie) of Autryville, Maggie Adaline Owens of Fayetteville, Robbie Miller of Stedman and Bobby Ann Ayers (Doug) of Fayetteville; four brothers, Carl B. Horne, Jr. (Helen) of Fayetteville, Jackie D. Horne (Jeff) of Greensboro, Lee Horne (Nadine) of Fayetteville and Robert Matthews, Jr. (Debbie) of Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clement Baptist Church Building Fund, 6020 Maxwell Road, Autryville, NC  28318.
