STEDMAN, N.C.

Eula Mae Capps Stewart, passed away peacefully in her home in Stedman on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at the age of 98. She was surrounded by family that loves her and will miss her dearly.

Born on May 27, 1918, in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late John Turner Capps and Geneva House Capps. She was the last surviving child out of eleven children.

Eula Mae married Robert V. Stewart in 1939 and moved to Stedman in 1966. She was a devoted housewife and mother to their four children, and often tended to the children of others as well. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and loved her family. Her husband passed away on July 12, 1991.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Robert Michael Stewart, grandson Buddy Russell, and son-in-law Steve E. Russell, Sr.

She is survived by her three daughters Peggy Stewart and Betty Russell, both of Stedman, and Linda (Allen) Frazee of Albemarle; two granddaughters Lynn (James) Merritt of Fayetteville and Sharon Frazee of Albemarle; grandson George (Candy) Frazee of Albemarle; seven great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 16, at Lafayette Memorial Park, Ramsey Street, Fayetteville.

Services are by Butler Funeral Home of Stedman.
