Mr. Eugene R. Holloway, 72

AUTRYVILLE Mr. Eugene Richard Holloway, 72 of 232 Pauline Lane, passed away on Saturday July 7, 2007 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 10, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. at Pleasant Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Holloway was born in 1935 in Belmont County, Ohio, to the late Jacob and Margaret Holloway. He was a retired Sgt. Major in the U.S. Army where he received numerous medals, and among them were the purple heart, silver star, and various others. Mr. Holloway is survived by: his wife, Kathleen Holloway of the home; two daughters, Phyllis Malone of Stedman, and Sherry Corkery of Autryville; one son, Bobby Smith of Harrells; two sisters, Mary Agnes Higgins of St. Clairesville, Ohio, and Clara Lee Danley of Connecticut; one brother, Carl Holloway of Naughtuck, Connecticut; 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. Family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 9 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, and other times at the home.
