Mr. Eugene “Gene” Beasley, 93 passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021.  He was born on August 6, 1927 in Laurinburg, NC.  Prior to his retirement, he worked in textile mills and as a part time security guard in the Bennettsville, SC, area.  He retired with his late wife, Edna Hales Beasley to Garland, NC in 1985.

He is survived by his stepdaughter Coretta Bedsole (George Johnson) of Chapin, SC., daughter-in-law Dolores Hales of Steadman, NC, six grandchildren: Lynetta Faircloth, Roseboro, NC; Rodney Faircloth (Leigh), Roseboro, NC; Kris Barefoot (Harold) Fayetteville, NC; Edward Parker (Regina), Clinton, NC; Jamey Dyson (Theresa), Houston, TX, and Derrick Johnson (Leah), Asheville, NC; 11 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and nephew, James Cannon Fayetteville, NC.

A private burial will be held at a later date.  The family extends a special thank you to Gene’s neighbors and the first responders who came to his aide.
