Mrs. Esther Blackmon Ammons, 76

January 27, 1935 — May 13, 2011

Roseboro Esther B. Ammons, 76, of McDaniels Rd. Roseboro, went home to be with her precious Lord and Savior on May 13, 2011. She leaves behind a legacy that testifies of a great woman who loved the Lord with all of her heart. She has given her family the precious gift of a Godly heritage that will forever remain in their hearts as their greatest memory of her to cherish. She loved her family and her church family with all of her heart and it showed in everything that she did. She was a lifetime member of Carr's Chapel Free Will Holiness Church, where she was the Church Secretary for more than 30 years. She loved to sing and lead others in songs of praise in her Church. She was dedicated to her membership role in her local church and served well. She enjoyed the simple things in life. She found her greatest joy and satisfaction in helping others. She was a pillar in her community, family and church family that will long be remembered for her unselfishness and her untiring devotion to be a blessing to those in need. She always placed others first. She was a caring and dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd S. Ammons. She leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy, Daughter - Lois Bass and husband Billy Bass, Son - Larry Ammons and wife LaNell Ammons, Son - Walter Ammons and wife Teresa Ammons, all of Roseboro. Six Grandchildren and spouses, Cheryl Pate and husband William; Timothy Ammons; Adam Ammons and wife Jamie; Nicholas Ammons; Steven Ammons and wife Christina; and Samantha Ammons. 4 Great Grandchildren, Casie Pate, Corey Pate, Aaliyah Ammons, and Dante Ammons. Two Brothers, Robert Blackmon of Shelby and James Blackmon of Erwin. Three Sisters, Annie Ammons of Garner, Catherine Ammons of Erwin and Mary Herring of Fayetteville. And her lifelong best friends Clara and Elbert Sessoms. Our family would like to thank the Mary Gran Nursing Home Staff and Caretakers for all that they did to make our Mother's stay as pleasant as possible. ~Funeral~ Monday, May 16, 2011 Carr's Chapel Church 3:00 PM ~Visitation~ Butler Funeral Home Sunday, May 15, 2011 6:00 till 8:00 PM ~Interment~ Carr's Chapel Church Cemetery
