Mrs. Ernestine Edge Simmons, 84 of Roseboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with the Reverend Phil Bowden officiating. The burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mrs. Simmons was a native of Cumberland County, the daughter of Leamon and Lillie Faircloth Edge. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W.J. Simmons; her daughter, Tammy Simmons; two brothers, Robert “Buddy” Edge and Bobby Edge; and four sisters, Magdalene Melvin, Aslean Edge, Christine Hall and Kathleen Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Terrie Pippin and husband, Scott of Roseboro; and Nancy Bigler of Linden, and fiancé, Derrick; three grandchildren, Daniel Bigler, Gabriel Pippin and Cameron Pippin; her brother, Billy Edge and Debbie of Benson; and many nieces and nephews.
