Ernest Wilbert Parker, 83

CLINTON

Mr. Ernest Wilbert Parker, 83 of Clinton, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his home.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 10, at Freedom Baptist Church, 2099 Tyndall Bridge Road, Salemburg, with Reverend Paul Honeycutt officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Parker Family Cemetery.

Born August 11, 1934 in Sampson County, he was the son of the late Paul Eugene and Beulah Honeycutt Parker. He was preceded in death by parents; his wife, Dorothy Reynolds Parker; brothers, Charlie Henry Parker, Fulton Parker, Winford Parker, Ottis Parker, and Carlos Parker; and sisters, Evelyn Parker, Anna Jane Parker Sears, and Christine Parker Byrd.

He was a graduate of Salemburg High School and of Methodist College. He was an Army Veteran and retired Assistant Resident Engineer with the NC Department of Transportation. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane Parker Creekmore and husband, Terry of Raleigh; and his grandchildren, Parker Evan Creekmore, Cameron Matthew Creekmore, and Peyton Diane Creekmore.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, November 9, at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.

Services are by Butler Funeral Home of Roseboro.
