Mr. Elwood (ET) Troy  Sessoms, 78 of Roseboro went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Southwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 9, 2023 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Rev. Donald Baldwin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 PM Monday at Butler Funeral Home prior to the service.

Mr. Sessoms was a native of Sampson County, the son of Troy Taft and Pauline Hall Sessoms.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tracey Renee Schnatiff; and sister, Dorothula Wooten.  He retired as an tax administrator from Cumberland County.

Elwood was a loving devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.  He loved living at the “Homeplace.”  He had a lot of bittersweet memories of growing up there and talked about them often.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Sessoms of the home; daughter, Teresa Alane Sessoms of LaGrange; two sons, Larry Brian Lewis and Brent Alan Lewis and wife, Promise all of Roseboro; three grandchildren, Christopher Lewis, Hailey Lewis and Payton Lewis; sister, Janet Latta and husband, Larry of Rocky Mount; two nieces, Melissa French and husband, Richard and Kayla Strickland and husband, Donald all of Rocky Mount.
