Mr. Elton Wilson Russ, 81 passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 2 at Beard’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Walter Hayes. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 1 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and at other times at his home.

Mr. Russ was a native of Bladen County, the son of Edgar Wilson and Annie Lou Norris Russ. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra Hester Russ; and brother, Joseph “Buck” Russ.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Peterson and Dennis of Clinton; two granddaughters, Jordan Peterson and Morgan Peterson both of Clinton; sister, Ethelene Barnes of Elizabethtown; five nieces and nephews, Darlene Jackson and husband, Donnie; Clyde “Bim” Barnes, Jr., and wife, Denise; Eddie Barnes and wife, Michelle; Bryan Russ and wife, Michelle; Brandy Russ; and by other family and friends.
