Mr. Elton Ray Hobbs, Jr., 64, of 1849 Tryon Dr., Fayetteville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2013. He was born January 30, 1949 to Elton Ray Hobbs, Sr. and Dorothy Pierce Hobbs in Richmond County.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 14 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman with Dr. Phil Spears officiating. Burial will follow in Fisher Cemetery.
Elton was a member of Stedman Baptist Church and attended Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Stedman High School where he played football and ran track. He served in the US Air Force for four years and was a Vietnam veteran. He retired from Kelly Springfield with 31 years of service. He enjoyed golf and played in many golf benefits and charity tournaments.
He is survived by two daughters, Julie Willet of Stedman and Susan Hatfield of Fayetteville; one son, Steven Hobbs of Stedman; two brothers, Jerry Hobbs and wife Sue of Roseboro and Tony Hobbs of Fayetteville; one sister, Dale Hobbs of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Katey Willet, Molly Hatfield and Rachael Willet; mother of children of Mr. Hobbs, Nellie Strickland Ulrich; nephews, Anthony, Chad, Keven, Shane, Shawn and Jeremy Hobbs.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, December 13 at Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Rd., Stedman, NC.
