AUTRYVILLE
Mrs. Elsie Barefoot Parker, 89 of 160 Johnson-Tanner Lane, Autryville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Catawba, S.C.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Autryville Church of God with Rev. Larry Autry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Parker was born on July 7, 1923 in Johnston County to the late Arthur and Fannie Strickland Hodges. She is preceded in death by: her parents; first husband, Lofton Barefoot and second husband Rev. P.C. Parker; one daughter, Mona Barefoot Hairr; one son, Everette Barefoot, Sr.; great granddaughter, Beth Barefoot; two brothers, Buddy Stancil and Frank Hodges; and one sister, Maggie Autry. She worked as a custodian with Lakewood High School.
She is survived by: one daughter, Joyce Barefoot Sessoms and husband Sherman of Catawba, SC; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Barefoot of Autryville; one sister, Opal Shumway and husband Glen of Timonium, MD; seven grandchildren, Shirley Sessoms Ghorshi, Wanda Barefoot, Melanie Sessoms Hunter, Jimmy Hairr, Lisa Hairr Simmons, Everette Barefoot, Jr. and Dawn Hairr Branham; seven great grandchildren, Bryan Myers, Heather Myers Goddard, Whitney Hairr Reiken, Tyler Simmons, Katelyn Sessoms, Courtney Ayers and Jamesion Hairr; and three great-great grandchildren, Brandon Myers, Reagan Harr and Faith Goddard.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at the home.
