Elsie Horne Montgomery, 85 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman, officiating will be Rev. Andy Wood.  Burial will follow at Sandy Horne Cemetery in Autryville.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 1:50 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, William Daniel Horne and Stella McLaurin Horne; husband, Oscar Lee Montgomery; sisters, Doris Johnson and Gladys Taylor; and her brothers, Eldridge and Bill Horne.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Judith Wood & husband, Doyle of Fayetteville, Sonia Keane & partner, Brian Alcock of Raleigh, Phillip Autry & wife, Cindy of Sanford, and David Autry & wife, Tina of Fayetteville; sister, Peggy Stone & husband, Pete of Autryville; sister-in-law, Lottie Horne; grandchildren, Joshua Wood & wife, Ashley of Tarrytown, NY, Colin Wood of Fayetteville, Zachary Evans & wife, Samantha of Wilmington, Caleb Evans & wife, Katherine of Wilmington, Trey Hines & wife, Briana of Sanford;  Ryan Autry & wife, Brandi of Benson, Heather Taylor & husband, David of Fayetteville, Megan Batton & husband, Toby of Fayetteville, Brittany Johnson & husband, Steven of Boonsboro, MD, and Christin Hines of Apex; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and her companion, Harold Adcox of Fayetteville.

Following the graveside service on Saturday, the family will be meeting at 4:00 PM at Pierros Italian Bistro, 217 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC  28301 and all are invited to join them.
