SALEMBURG
Mr. Elmon Lee "Turkle" McLamb, 101 of 2397 N. Salemburg Highway, died on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Southwood Nursing and Retirement Center in Clinton.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at Holland's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Michael Oliver and Rev. W.O. Reiber officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.
Mr. McLamb was born on January 6, 1909 in Sampson County to the late Albert and Kate Fann McLamb. He is preceded in death by his wife, Madge Leona McLamb, and two sons, Glenwood McLamb and Lindy McLamb. He was the Owner and Operator of McLamb's Auto Sales.
He is survived by: one daughter, Celesta Honeycutt and husband, Earl of Salemburg; one son, Woody McLamb and wife, Beth of Clinton; one step-daughter, Sandra Washabaugh of Shippensburg, Penn.; two step-sons, William Overton of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Steve Overton of Moriches, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Stacey Petrucci, Donna Bee, Cherie Kilgannon, Michelle Piro, Kim Honeycutt and Clark Honeycutt; seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening following the service at Holland's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2069 Huntley School Road, Roseboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holland's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2069 Huntley School Road, Roseboro, NC 28382.
