Mrs. Ellen Jane Pleasants Rice, 98 of 406 Rice Road, White Oak, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery, White Oak, with Reverend Randy Locklear officiating.

She was born on January 27, 1918 in Wake County, and is preceded in death by her parents, Bartley and Ida Hall Pleasants; her husband, Abner Rice; two sons, Elwood Rice, and Russell Rice; and three grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Edwin Rice, Jimmy Rice, Gail King, and Doris Moody; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren.
