Mrs. Eleanor H. Leblanc, 75

June 18, 2025 — February 25, 2009

Eleanor Doris Honeycutt LeBlanc, 75, a native of Sampson County died peacefully in her sleep in her home in Fargo, North Dakota on Wednesday, February 25, 2009. After enjoying her years working with the Cumberland County Board of Education she retired in Fargo. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, James and Beatrice King Honeycutt, her husband, Maurice, and her brother, James Douglas Honeycutt. Doris is survived by her children, Ava (Tom) Vranish of Horace, ND; Diana Freeman of Portland, OR; Gay (Kevin) O'Connor of Portland, OR; four grandchildren, James, Erin, Brady and Catherine; one great grandchild, Joseph, and her sisters, Betty Honeycutt Barnes of Salemburg and Diamond Honeycutt Butler of Autryville and a sister-in-law, JoAnn Honeycutt of Stedman. Doris was a fun-loving person who loved life. Beautiful flowers alway filled her garden and lavish hanging baskets adorned her patio. She loved her three children and she loved her grandchildren. She was an active volunteer and loved working with the elderly in nursing homes. She read to them and made them laugh and they looked forward to their time with her. Also, Doris enjoyed her friends in the Red Hat Society. She was loved by her nieces and nephews as well. Doris had a number of adversities in her life but always she smiled and said, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." She learned from her experiences and was always there to lend a solid, loving, helping hand to others. She was the first to be there in times of trouble and she was the first to be there when the time came to celebrate. Someone once said one may not always remember a person's name...but they will always remember how that person made them feel. Doris made everyone feel loved, respected, valued and precious. She was a wonderful lady and beautiful lady. Following Doris' funeral at St. Benedict's Church of Wild Rice, North Dakota, a Celebration of Life for Doris will be conducted at Pleasant Union Baptist Church, near Roseboro, on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Paul Honeycutt and Rev. Bobby Herring officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service in the Pleasant Union Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Obituary announcement courtesy of Butler Funeral Home, 401 W.
