Mrs. Elberta Beard Averitt

FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Elberta Beard Averitt, 72, of 1468 Habersham Drive died Thursday, March 13 at Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center. She was a homemaker. She was born in Cumberland County to the late Elmo Chester Beard and Eva Blanche Faircloth. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 15 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Rev. Kenneth Earwood officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Averitt is survived by her husband, Charles Averitt of the home; a daughter, Darlene Tatum of Fayetteville; a son, David Averitt of Clinton; two sisters, Barbara Hicks of Charlotte and Shirley Brantley of Augusta, GA; two brothers, Bruce Beard and Marvin Beard of Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Saturday at the church prior to the service.
