SALEMBURG
Mrs. Edna Edwards Hairr, 90 of 2357 N. Salemburg Highway, died on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Calvary Tabernacle Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Johnson, Rev. Paul Honeycutt and Rev. Allen West officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hairr was born on March 12, 1920 in Sampson County to the late Marion F. and Katie Norris Edwards. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Stephen Hairr; and three sisters, Glenda Jackson, Elease Thornton and Betty Iris Jackson. She was a member of Calvary Tabernacle P.F.W.B. Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by: one daughter, Joyce Hairr Dixon and husband Pat of Clinton; one son, Junie Mack Hairr and wife Brenda of Salemburg; five grandchildren, Lynette Tanner of Salemburg, Kent Dixon of Durham, Karen Davis of Clinton, Steve Hairr of Boiling Springs, SC, and Brent Hairr of Salemburg; and 15 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro, and other times at the home of Mack Hairr, 2638 N. Salemburg Highway, Salemburg.
