Mrs. Edith Ray (Norris) Johnson, 84 of Eastover, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Bethesda Health Care Facility surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Reverend Andy Wood and Reverend Lee Britt officiating. The burial will follow at Zoar Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:50 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the funeral home prior to the service. At other times, the family is receiving friends at Mrs. Edith Johnson's home.

Mrs. Johnson was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Ollin and Arah Godwin Norris. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Earl Johnson; her son-in-law, Allen Burgette; and three sisters, Marilyn Beard, Jeanette Beard and Merita “Pee-Wee” Carlisle.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Denise Burgette of Durham; two sons, Jay Johnson and wife, Beth of Fayetteville; and Jerry Johnson and wife, Melody of Eastover; seven grandchildren, Tyler Burgette, Hayley Burgette, Jeremy Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Jessica Fournier, Dr. Justin Johnson and Jordan Johnson; ten great grandchildren, Charlotte Fournier, Harlynn Fournier, Ryleigh Fournier, Walker Johnson, Cooper Johnson, Kinsley Jones, Boden Johnson, Wells Johnson, Arahbella Craig and Osiah Craig; an expectant great grandson; three sisters, Doris Hill, Ruby Bryant and Pat Royal; and two brothers, O.B. Norris (Belinda) and Tommy Norris.
