FAYETTEVILLE
Edith Mae Page Lewis, 82, of Fayetteville, NC went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 23, 2013. Edith was born in Sampson County to the late Leslie and Avie Smith Page .
She married her Soulmate, the late Stacy B. Lewis Sr. on June 2, 1948. She worked at Ft Bragg as a clerical/Supply clerk until her retirement in 1993.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by a brother Leslie Kenneth Page. Edith was a member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. After her retirement, she loved helping people by volunteering at Cape Fear Valley Hospital, Cape Fear Little Theater and anywhere she could help people. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
A Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman with Rev. Robert Staples officiating. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca L. Cockman of Fayetteville; Son, Stacy B. Lewis Jr. of Oxford; 5 grandchildren; Angela Lewis of Rocky Point; Jennifer Gregory of Oxford; Ed Cockman of Passendena, Texas; Benjamin Lewis of Oxford; and Staci Silvertooth of Fayetteville. She had 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
Memorials may be made in Memory of Edith Lewis to the Eastern Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association or Operation InAsMuch.
Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman.
