E. Craig Howard

SALEMBURG

Mr. E. Craig Howard, 88 of Salemburg, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Southwood Nursing Center.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, August 22, at Salemburg Baptist Church, 300 N. Main Street, Salemburg, with Pastor John Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Salemburg Cemetery with masonic rites.

Mr. Howard was born September 23, 1929 in Sampson County and was the son of the late Clifford and Annie Crumpler Howard. He was past master of Coharie Lodge #379 and was a 33rd Degree Mason with Wilmington Scottish Rite. He was presented the Joseph Montfort Medal for distinguished service by the Grand Lodge of NC in May 2014. He was a veteran of the US Air Force for six years working as a mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Howard; four children, Gerry Elaine Howard of Greenville, SC, Craig V. Howard and wife, Sharon of Richland, WA, Karen Jernigan and husband, Roger of Concord, Bette Jo Broome and husband, Bill of Valrico, FL; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:50pm prior to the service, and other times at the home.
