Mrs. Durema Mclamb Raynor

RALEIGH Long time former Roseboro resident Durema McLamb Raynor passed away on December 2, 2010 at the Oaks of Mayview, Raleigh, NC. Services will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Roseboro First Baptist Church, 3720 S. Salemburg Hwy., Roseboro, NC. The visitation will be at the church at 1:00 PM with the service following at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at the Roseboro Cemetery. She was the daughter of Marshall Judson McLamb and Bertha Baggett McLamb. She was born April 27, 1913, the middle of five daughters. Reared in Piney Green and Salemburg, she was educated at Pineland School. Later she earned degrees at Appalachian and Atlantic Christian College. She was the wife of James Arthur Raynor with whom she shared 65 years. They had one daughter, Frances Faye. Durema was a wise, devoted and loving person to all her family and was therefore the recipient of great love and caring in return. She was a respected elementary teacher in Sampson County Schools for over 40 years. Mrs. Raynor was a faithful member of the Roseboro First Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband and sisters Orell McLamb, Louise Blevins and Lula Warren. She is survived by a daughter Faye Raynor Dunn and husband Edward; granddaughter, Anne Elizabeth Gordon and husband Stewart; great-granddaughter, Emma Claire Gordon; sister, Geraldine Baird; special nieces, Evelyn Butler and Lou Anne Johnston. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Geraldine Beasley and many close and loving nieces and nephews among the Raynor family. The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to all the very special staff of Mayview for their kind and devoted care.
