Ms. Dorothy Butler Britt, 88

KENANSVILLE Ms. Dorothy Butler Britt, 88, of Kenansville, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Pitt Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Roseboro First Baptist Church with the Rev. Hampton Faircloth, Rev. Roger White and Dr. Mike Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Roseboro Cemetery. Ms. Britt was born on October 27, 1920, daughter of the late George Willie and Dora Johnson Butler and a native of Roseboro, NC. She was a life-long member of Roseboro Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a retired librarian from Lakewood High School. Ms. Britt is survived by her three daughters, Harriet Allen, of Greenville, NC, Annis Faircloth (Jimmie) of Kenansville, NC and Judith Strickland, of Wilmington, NC, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1-2 pm at the church prior to the service.
