Dorothy (Sessoms) Allen

AUTRYVILLE Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Sessoms Allen, 73 of Autryville passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at UNC Hospitals at Chapel Hill. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Minister Bobby Oliver officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the memorial service. Dot was born June 23, 1945 in Sampson County, and was the daughter of the late Isaiah Tobe and Betty Brock Sessoms.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Allen; and a sister, Ruby DuBuisson.  She worked in clothing manufacturing and retired from the Champion Company. She is survived by her daughter, Sonia Faircloth of Fayetteville; son, Thomas Lambert of the home; step-daughter, Rebecca Allen of Four Oaks; step-son, Christopher Allen of Four Oaks; sister, Loucinda Bell of Byron, Ga; brother, Archie Sessoms and wife Catherine of Salemburg; eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. Butler Funeral Home of Roseboro is serving the family.
