FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Doris Evelyn Shipley, 83 of 1601 Purdue Street, died on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at Village Green, in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be private. Mrs. Shipley was born on April 16, 1926 in Robeson County to the late Joe John and Sarah Henderson Andrews. She worked as Secretary with U.S. Customs. Mrs. Shipley is survived by: one daughter, Kamie Baxter of Henderson, NV; two sons, John Gunnels of Leesburg, VA, and James Gunnels of Ft. Worth, TX; two sisters, Betty Holland of Salemburg, and Sarah Alexander of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Services are entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
