Mrs. Doris C. Melvin, 77

FAYETTEVILLE Mrs. Doris Ruth Coble Melvin, 77 of 11522 Old Fayetteville Road, died on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown. Funeral service will be on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Wingo and Rev. Larry Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Melvin was born on December 1, 1932 and was a native of Bladen County. She is preceded in death by: her parents, Charlie and Florabelle Melvin Coble; and her husband, Harry Melvin. She worked as a Dispatcher with the Bladen County Sheriff's Office. Mrs. Melvin is survived by: two sisters, Joyce Cain of Hope Mills and Virginia Gillingham of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 3 P.M. at Sharon Baptist Church, 9957 Turnbull Road, Fayetteville, NC. Arrangements by Butler Funeral Home, 401 W.
