Mrs. Doris W. Horne, 70

ROSEBORO Mrs. Doris Faye Willis Horne, 70 of 2911 Old Mintz Hwy., died on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Mintz Baptist Church with Dr. John McBride officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She was born on June 16, 1939 in Sampson County to the late Aaron Elbert and Juanita Cooper Willis. She is preceded in death by her husband, James T. Horne. She worked as a Teacher with Cumberland County Schools. She is survived by: one son, James W. Horne of the home, and his fiancé Amy Elizabeth Naylor of Clinton; one granddaughter, Kassadie Faye Horne of Clinton; two sisters, Alice Cooper Barts of Roseboro, and Judy Kaye Smith of Garland; and one brother, Steve Willis of Reidsville. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 10 until 11:00 A.M. at Mintz Baptist Church, Roseboro, and other times at the home. Services are entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
