Mr. Donnie Glenwood Tew, age 87 of Broadway, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, May 29, 2016.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 385 Holly Springs Church Road, Broadway, with Reverend Scott Yow, Jr., Reverend Paul Tom Welborn, and Reverend Jerry Parsons officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, S. Salemburg Highway, Salemburg.
Mr. Tew was born on June 13, 1928 in Sampson County and worked as a dairy farmer and a Trailways Bus Driver. He was an Army Veteran and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felton Tew and Betsy Naylor Tew; his first wife, Adele Yarborough Tew; his second wife, Murline W. Tew; sisters, Bonnie Jackson, Zita Wilson, Alice Faye McLamb; and a stepson, JE Williams.
He is survived by a sister, Aladine Rogers; stepdaughter, Melinda New and husband Van; stepson, Jerry Williams and wife Linda; grandchildren, Tammy W. Cain and husband Walt, Chad Williams and wife Jessica, Jeremy Williams and wife Sheryl, Abbey Williams and Drew; great grandchildren, Ella Rose Williams, Matthew James Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am Friday at Holly Springs Baptist Church prior to the service.
Arrangements are by Butler Funeral Home of Roseboro.
