Mr. Donald Ray McPhail, 85 of Salemburg passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at his home.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 9 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Honeycutt officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at the church.

Mr. McPhail was a native of Sampson County, the son of James Thomas and Lessie Jane Honeycutt McPhail.  He was preceded in death by his parents and step-daughter, Erica Graham.  He was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Effie McPhail of the home; three daughters, Sharon Hall of Salemburg, Karen Williams and husband, Terrell of Autryville and Donna Lockamy and husband, James of Dunn; one son, Thomas Ray McPhail and wife, Nena of Salemburg; one step-daughter, Tammy Smoak and husband, Gary of Newport News, Virginia; one sister, Oloby Mae Sessoms of Roseboro; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Liberty Hospice team for their love and care shown to their loved one during this most difficult time.
