Mr. Donald Alvis Hughes, 79 of 515 Hughes Road, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, July 6, 2018 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel, officiating will be Pastor Billy George Hughes. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 12:50pm Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Hughes & Thelma Leona Adkins Hughes; son, Darrell Howard Hughes; brother, Jimmy Hughes; sister, Shirley Cranes and grandson, Matthew Brandon Hughes.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie Hughes; sons, Daniel Alvis Hughes and Donald Wayne Hughes, Sr. & wife, Sharon; brothers, Ray Hughes & wife, Verda and Billy George Hughes & wife, Debbie; sisters, Mary Rose O'Brien & husband, Jerry, Barbara Edge & husband, Leonard and Linda Nunnery; 6 grandchildren, Donald Wayne Hughes, Jr. & wife, Sarah, Angela Elizabeth Hughes, Daniel Scott Hughes, Johanna Nicole Anderson & husband, John Michael, John Timothy Hughes & wife, Karen and Heather Marie Hughes; 3 step-grandchildren, Scott Andrew Thorne & wife, Carrie, Dewey Nunnery and Katie Nunnery & husband, Joey; 11 great grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren.
