Mr. Denton Matthews, 75

STEDMAN Mr. Denton Matthews, 75 of 5236 Maxwell Road, died on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Samuel Pope and Pastor David Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery in Stedman. Mr. Matthews was born on June 8, 1935 in Sampson County to the late Veat and Beulah Wrench Matthews. He is survived by: his wife, Faye L. Matthews of the home; one son, Randy Wayne Matthews of Stedman; one daughter, Kim Kincaid and husband Sean of Stedman; five sisters, Stella West Sipes and husband John of Charlotte, Ybeatrice Sheets and husband Hubert, Lou Daniels and husband Gerald, Frances Travis and husband Harvey and Ruth Pope and husband Wayland all of Stedman; and one brother, Ashford Matthews of Badin. The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church, 6535 Oak Grove Church Road, Stedman, and other times at the home.
