ROSEBORO The Reverend Dennis T. Wright, 87, of Elizabethtown Highway, Roseboro, died Tuesday, June 5. A funeral service for the Reverend Wright will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 9, 2007 in Mill Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Dennis Guy, Rev. Tommy Honeycutt and Rev. Roger White officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Wright was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born in Columbus County, North Carolina. At the age of eleven he responded to God's call to be a preacher and minister. Reverend Wright served churches in Cabarrus, Cumberland, Jones and Sampson counties. Reverend Wright is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Lois Alice Hudson Wright, three daughters, Patricia Wright Stacy and husband David Glen Stacy of Gaffney, S.C., Betty Mae Wright and fiancé Shane Strickland of Clayton, and Elaine Wright Newton and husband Richard Newton of Raleigh; four sons, Roger B. Wright and wife Jane Turner Wright of Harrells, Terry D. Wright and wife Sylvia Vinson Wright of Wilmington, Benjamin L. Wright and wife Tonya Jones Wright of Clinton, and Herman J. Wright and wife Mary Allen Wright of Fuquay-Varina; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Reverend Wright was preceded in death by his son Wendell Wade Wright and daughter Judy Carol Yates. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 Friday night, June 8, 2007 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dennis T. and Lois Hudson Wright Scholarship at Campbell University, PO Box 116, Buies Creek, NC 27506. Services are entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
