Deloris Gertrude (Autry) Hunnicutt

Mrs. Deloris Gertrude Hunnicutt, 88 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Travis Horrell officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:50 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mrs. Hunnicutt was a native of Cumberland County, the daughter of James and Julie Frances Williamson Autry. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wiley David Hunnicutt, Sr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Steve Owen; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Sharon Hunnicutt; son-in-law, Johnnie (J-Bird) Hales; two grandsons, Johnnie Hales and Christopher Hunnicutt; and six siblings.

Mrs. Hunnicutt was a homemaker, loving wife of 50 years, a mother and grandmother to everyone who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, JoAnn Hales Hockaday and husband, Danny of the home; two granddaughters, Angela Hales and Misty Rose; three grandchildren-in-love, Traci Hales, AJ Thomas and Josh Rose; and six great grandchildren, Autumn and husband, Devin; Cheyanne, Dakota, Ashton, Bella and Axel.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Mrs. Frances Bowser, caregiver and friend.
