Mr. Dearl Elbert West, 74

ROSEBORO Mr. Dearl Elbert West, 74, of 456 McDaniel Road went home to be with the Lord, June 23, 2013. There will be a funeral at 3:00 P.M. on June 26, 2013, at Mintz Baptist Church with Dr. John McBride officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Mr. West was born on August 23, 1938, in Sampson County to the late Elbert V. and Ellen Lewis West. Mr. West was a long time member of Mintz Baptist Church, a deacon and very active in church functions until his declining health. He loved his grandchildren dearly and always enjoyed every moment he spent with them. He is survived by: his wife, Carolyn S. West of the home; two daughters, Tonya West Young of Roseboro and Regina West Kook and husband, Chris of Roseboro; four grandchildren, Nicholas West Young, Casey Young and fiance', Vernon Williford, Andrew Christopher Kook and Amanda Ellen Kook; one sister, Deloris Rains and husband, Don of Leesville, SC; one brother, Donald V. West of Greenville, SC; two nephews, Rodney Rains and Mike Rains both of South Carolina. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 6 to 8 PM at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home 401 W Roseboro Street, Roseboro. There will be a funeral at 3:00 P.M. on June 26, 2013, at Mintz Baptist Church with Dr. John McBride officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 6 to 8 PM at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
