Mr. David Wayne Willoughby, 70, formerly of Holden Beach, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Valley Hospice House surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Dominion Fayetteville Christian Center, officiating will be Pastor Craig Autry and Pastor Jon Facette.  Burial will follow at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM Sunday at the church prior to the service.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Royce Leon Willoughby and Stella Smith Willoughby; grandson, Justin Willoughby; and brother-in-law, Doug Pope.

He retired from Kelly Springfield, now known as Goodyear.  He loved the beach, the mountains, camping, horses and most of all he loved life.  David will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Patricia “Kay” Pope Crumpler Willoughby of the home; children, Patricia Crumpler Smith (George) of Fayetteville, Joseph Willoughby (Dionne) of Fayetteville, and Michelle Naylor of Stedman; grandchildren, Casey Smith (Ema) of Fayetteville, Kristian Eason (Dillon) of Godwin, Anthony Naylor of Stedman, David Wayne Naylor of Stedman, and Tyler Hicks of Fayetteville; great grandchildren, Daxtyn Ledezma and Stormi Smith both of Fayetteville; brother, R L Willoughby (Jenni) of Newport; sister, Mary Coleman (Jerry) of Garner; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Starling (Richard) of Stedman, brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank Pope (Carolyn) of Autryville, Jimmy Pope (Barbara) of Elizabethtown, and Joe Pope (Lillie) of Autryville.
