David Emmitt Maxwell

David Maxwell, age 89, of Stedman, was called to his eternal home by his Lord and Savior on October 5, 2025.

 David was born to the late John Robert Maxwell, Sr. and Ada Averitt Maxwell. He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Patsy Maxwell; and eight siblings, sisters, Ida Lancaster, Louise Weeks; brothers, J.R. Maxwell Jr., James Grey Maxwell, Danny Maxwell, Sr., Charles Maxwell, Cicero Maxwell, William A. Maxwell, Sr.

David is survived by his son, David Maxwell, Jr.; daughter-in-law Heidi Maxwell; sister, Mildred Rice.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Fisher Cemetery in Stedman, officiating will be Rev. James Atkinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stedman Baptist Church, 7750 Clinton Rd., Stedman, NC 28391.

The family has entrusted services to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Rd., Stedman, NC 28391.
