Mr. David Neal Johnson, 74, of 1033 Greensbridge Road, died on Friday, June 24, 2011 at his home.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Garland Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Curtis Stump, Rev. Odell Peterson and Rev. Ron Hilman officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born in Bladen County to the late David Henry and Elma Ruth Bedsole Johnson. He was a farmer and retired from the North Carolina DOT with 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Joyce Batchlor.
Mr. Johnson is survived by: wife, Betty Lou Johnson, of the home; three daughters, Amy Lou Johnson, of the home, Linda Faircloth, of Roseboro and Mary Ruth Bordeaux, of Garland; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Peterson, of Roseboro, Sarah Lou Johnson and Vallerie Marshall, both of Spring Hope; two brothers, Marvin Cook Johnson, of Sanford and Lynn Scott Johnson, of Dunn; two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday night from 6 till 8 PM at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
