Danny Gray Nunnery, 67 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 24, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Friday, October 30, 2026 at Concord Baptist Church, officiating will be Pastor Charles Holland, Sr. and Pastor Brant Jackson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.

Danny was born in Sampson County to the late, Bobby Gray Nunnery and Ann Ernestine Sessoms Nunnery. He is also preceded in death by his significant other, Katherine Jane Mercer; and his brother-in-law, James Frederick Latza.

Danny loved his family and his dogs. He loved fishing, going to the mountains and the beach, hunting, and Nascar. He loved anything that had to do with the Civil War, as he participated in many reenactment programs over the years. Danny lived his life, and he lived it his way.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Judy Ann Latza; nephew, Bradley Gray Latza (Chasity Taylor); niece, Brittany Nicole Cornett (Marc); nephews, Brycen James Latza and Brendan Seth Latza; nieces, Bristen Hope Latza and Briella Elizabeth Latza; nephews, Brayden Walter Latza and Brentley Edison Latza; niece, Brighten Brianna Latza; children, Abigail (Jon), John, Aaron, Bryan (Tiffany), Buckie (Madison), Andrea (Cameron), and Elaine (Brad); numerous grandchildren, special great nieces and great nephews.
